Citation & Audit Issues
No citation data after 24 hours
No citation data after 24 hours
Citation data typically appears within 24 hours of completing the initial workspace audit. If you’re past that window and still see nothing, work through these checks:
- Verify your domain is entered correctly. Go to Settings → Workspace and confirm the domain matches exactly what’s live (e.g.,
https://yoursite.comvs.https://www.yoursite.com). - Confirm the initial audit completed. On the workspace dashboard, look for a green “Audit Complete” status badge. If the audit is still in progress or shows an error, see the “Audit stuck in progress” entry below.
- Check your keyword list. Citation monitoring only runs against keywords you’ve added. Make sure at least a few keywords are active in your workspace.
- Wait one more cycle. Daily sampling runs on a fixed schedule. If you set up your workspace late in the day, your first full sample may arrive in the next 24-hour window.
Citation data looks wrong or unexpectedly low
Citation data looks wrong or unexpectedly low
Low citation frequency doesn’t mean your site is never cited — it means you were cited in a smaller proportion of the daily query samples. A few things to keep in mind:
- AI engines are probabilistic. Each engine produces different answers on different runs. A frequency of 15% is meaningful data, not an error.
- Sample size grows over time. Fresh workspaces have smaller sample sizes. Wait 3–5 days for your frequency scores to stabilize before drawing conclusions.
- Check your keyword relevance. If your tracked keywords don’t closely match your content and product, the AI engines may not surface your site. Try adding more specific, long-tail keywords.
- Review competitors’ scores. If competitors have high citation frequency on the same keywords, that’s a content gap Spyro can help you close with optimized articles.
Audit stuck in progress
Audit stuck in progress
The initial workspace audit — which includes a site crawl, competitor mapping, and topical planning — normally completes within a few minutes.
- Refresh the dashboard. Sometimes the status indicator needs a page reload to update.
- Wait up to one hour. Large or complex sites can take longer.
- If the audit has been running for more than one hour, email support@spyro.app with your workspace domain. The team can manually trigger a fresh audit run.
Publishing Issues
Articles not publishing to WordPress
Articles not publishing to WordPress
WordPress publishing uses the WordPress Application Password system. If articles aren’t going through, check the following:
- Verify the Application Password is correct. Go to Integrations → WordPress in your workspace and re-enter or regenerate the Application Password from your WordPress user profile (
Users → Your Profile → Application Passwords). - Check the WordPress user role. The user whose credentials you provided must have the Editor or Author role (or higher). Subscriber and Contributor roles cannot publish posts via the API.
- Re-test the connection. In Integrations → WordPress, click Test Connection. A green confirmation means Spyro can reach your site. A red error usually includes a specific message pointing to the issue.
- Check for security plugins. Some security plugins (e.g., Wordfence, iThemes Security) block REST API access or Application Passwords. Temporarily disable them to test, then whitelist Spyro’s IP if needed.
Articles not publishing to Shopify

Shopify publishing uses OAuth authorization. If articles aren’t appearing in your Shopify blog:
- Re-authorize the Shopify connection. Go to Integrations → Shopify and click Reconnect. This refreshes the OAuth token, which can expire or be revoked if your Shopify password changed.
- Verify the selected blog section exists. Spyro publishes to a specific Shopify blog (not your product catalog). Confirm that the blog you selected during setup still exists in your Shopify admin under Online Store → Blog Posts.
- Check your Shopify plan. Ensure your Shopify plan still includes the blog feature — some legacy or Starter plans have limited blogging capabilities.
Articles not publishing to Webflow
Articles not publishing to Webflow
Webflow publishing uses the Webflow CMS API. If articles aren’t appearing:
- Check field mapping. Go to Integrations → Webflow and confirm that the Spyro fields (Title, Body, Slug, etc.) are correctly mapped to your Webflow CMS Collection fields. A mismatch will silently fail.
- Verify the CMS Collection is not locked. Webflow allows editors to lock collections. Check in your Webflow dashboard that the target collection is editable.
- Confirm your API key has write access. The Webflow API key used during setup must have Content and CMS write permissions. Regenerate the key in Webflow if you’re unsure, and update it in Integrations → Webflow.
- Check your Webflow plan. CMS API publishing is only available on Webflow’s CMS plan or higher.
Account & Billing Issues
Can't log in to my account
Can't log in to my account
Try these steps in order:
- Use the correct login method. If you originally signed up with Google (“Continue with Google”), use that same button — a separate email/password account won’t exist.
- Reset your password. On the login page at app.spyro.app, click Forgot password? and follow the instructions sent to your email.
- Check your spam folder. Password reset emails and invitation emails occasionally land in spam.
- Try a different browser or incognito mode. Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with authentication.
- Still locked out? Email support@spyro.app from the email address associated with your Spyro account and the team will restore your access manually.

My payment failed and my account is read-only
When a payment fails, Spyro retries the charge automatically. In the meantime, your account enters read-only mode — you can view your data but cannot generate new articles or publish content. To restore full access:
- Go to Settings → Billing in the app.
- Click Update Payment Method and enter a valid card.
- Once a successful payment is processed, your account returns to full access immediately.
I've used up my article allowance for the month
I've used up my article allowance for the month
Each Pro plan includes 30 articles per month. Allowances reset at the start of your next billing period and do not roll over — unused articles from the current period are not carried forward.Your options:
- Wait for the reset. Check your billing renewal date in Settings → Billing to see exactly when your allowance refreshes.
- Contact support about your account. In some cases the team can review your usage and advise on the best path forward.
- Manage your queue. Review the content queue and prioritize the topics that will have the most impact before the reset.
If you’re consistently hitting your limit each month, this is a good signal that Spyro is working. Email support@spyro.app to discuss higher-volume options.
