Spyro’s AI Citation Tracker tells you exactly how often — and in what contexts — the world’s leading AI engines mention your brand. Instead of guessing whether ChatGPT or Gemini recommends you to potential customers, you get daily citation frequency data, a breakdown of your top cited pages, and a clear picture of which competitors appear alongside you in the same queries.

Why Citation Frequency Matters

AI engines like ChatGPT and Gemini don’t return identical answers every time. Each response is generated fresh, which means a single query can produce different results across separate sessions. A one-time spot-check is therefore misleading — your brand might appear in 60% of responses to a query, or in none, and a single test won’t tell you which. Spyro solves this by sampling each query repeatedly and reporting citation rates as frequencies rather than yes/no facts. When the tracker shows your brand cited in 73% of relevant ChatGPT responses, that number is backed by statistically reliable daily sampling — not a lucky one-off result.

Supported AI Engines

Spyro monitors citations across all five major AI platforms daily:
AI EngineWhat Spyro Measures
ChatGPT (GPT-4o)Citation frequency, cited page URLs, co-cited competitors per query
ClaudeCitation frequency, cited page URLs, co-cited competitors per query
GeminiCitation frequency, cited page URLs, co-cited competitors per query
PerplexityCitation frequency, source links surfaced, co-cited competitors per query
CopilotCitation frequency, cited page URLs, co-cited competitors per query

What You See in the Dashboard

Your Citation Tracker dashboard gives you a unified view of AI visibility across all five engines. For each engine you can see:
  • Citation frequency — the percentage of sampled responses that mention your brand for each tracked query
  • Top cited pages — which pages on your site AI engines pull from most often
  • Competitor co-citations — which rival brands appear in the same AI responses as you, and how their citation rates compare
Use this data to identify which pages are already earning AI trust, which competitors are outpacing you, and which queries represent the biggest citation opportunities.

How Audits Work

Spyro runs two layers of AI visibility monitoring in parallel:
  • Weekly deep audits — a comprehensive sweep across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini that benchmarks your overall GEO health and surfaces trends over time
  • Daily citation data refresh — citation frequencies update every day so you can catch changes quickly and measure the impact of new content
Your first citation data appears within 24 hours of connecting your site. There is nothing to configure — Spyro begins sampling immediately after setup.

Beta Features

The following modules are active and collecting data, but are still being tuned. Results may shift as Spyro improves the underlying models. Use them for directional insight rather than final decisions during the beta period.
  • AI Prompt Tracker — tracks specific prompts you care about to monitor how AI engines respond to exact questions your customers ask
  • AI Overview Tracking — monitors your appearance in Google’s AI Overviews (SGE) in addition to standalone AI engines
  • GEO Readiness Audit — scores your existing content against GEO best practices and surfaces the highest-impact improvements

Getting Started

1

Connect your site

From the Spyro dashboard, add your domain under Settings → Sites. Spyro immediately begins crawling and queuing citation sampling.
2

Wait for your first data

Citation frequency data appears within 24 hours. You’ll receive an email notification when your first results are ready.
3

Review citation frequencies

Open the Citation Tracker panel. Review your citation rates per AI engine, your top cited pages, and the competitors appearing alongside you.
4

Identify gaps and opportunities

Use the co-citation data to spot queries where competitors are cited but you are not. Feed those topics into the Content Engine to close the gap.
Sort your citation data by query to find the topics where your competitors consistently outrank you. These are your highest-priority content opportunities.
